Lucas' work takes nostalgia, pop culture and every day life as the subject matter- rendering them through a variety of different lenses, from completely abstract to starkly realist.

Heavily influenced by vintage advertising and cartoons as well as the masters of cubism and abstract expressionism, Lucas work aims to invoke a sense of nostalgia and reminiscence within his audience.

Bright abstract strokes are contrasted with the bold lines, fine details and tongue in cheek humour of cartoons, enabling Lucas to create a subtle commentary about the environment around him, whilst also creating a platform for the audience to relive their own experiences and join in on the conversation.
